Building at the Speed of Change!
Be a part of “The Friendship Build”

The next Habitat build may still be months away but Habitat received its first donation of 2010. Terry Chandler, an instructor at Mohawk College, donated 20 saw horses build by the students in the construction program at Mohawk. Terry and his students were involved in the 2009 Perry Build at West Brant and remember the need for saw horses on the construction site. Habitat for Humanity is thankful for the support we receive and expertises shared by the Mohawk College volunteers.
Terry Chandler of Mohawk College and
Larry Kings Habitat Board President.
Dan Generoux, ReStore Sales Associate and the saw horses.

Habitat for Humanity Brant is inviting YOU to be a part of The West Brant Project! Located on Stirton Street, this multiple build project is giving 10 area families the chance to become homeowners. Habitat is currently gearing up for Phase 3 beginning in May of 2010 targeting the building of 2 homes.

We are actively recruiting new volunteers to work with Habitat on the following committees:

  • Construction Committee: This committee is responsible for house construction support including house design, build schedule development, gift in kind procurement and warranty support for completed homes.
  • Financial Development Committee: This committee is responsible for building and implementing an annual fundraising plan.
  • Board of Directors: As a member of the Board, a Director acts in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization.

Please forward all expressions of interest to info@habitatbrant.org

Additionally, Habitat needs volunteers to work on the construction, donors to provide snacks/lunches, donations of building materials, and sponsors to help fund the building.

For more information please contact us at 519 759-8600 or drop into the ReStore at 408 Henry Street and pick up a build application to be returned by April 10th.
